About Ivy Essence

Ivy is a Saint Louis native and has always enjoyed doing hair for fun or just practicing on her little sisters. Ivy did her “BIG CHOP” in the spring of 2010 when she was on spring break. Later that year she learned about Sisterlocks after her older sister got her hair loc’d and loved everything about them. In 2011 once Ivy graduated college she decided that Sisterlocks would be the hair style for her.  After getting her Sisterlocks installed she knew that she would love them forever. Ivy took the Sisterlocks training class after being recruited by her older sister Tameka to work for her business and the rest is history! In 2013 Locs N Cutz was officially started, after attending barber school. Later on throughout the year, Locs N Cutz started to go by LocsByIvyEssence after having such an impact on her social media platforms. As of 2018, Ivy is no longer a Sisterlocks brand consultant on their website. However, she still establishes Sisterlocks and other loc’n method like it, such as interlocks, two strand interlocks etc. In 2020 even while a pandemic is going on Ivy Essence has opened her own salon which is called Essence Naturals Salon.

+Do we offer loc extension?

We do not offer loc extension services of any kind.

+ How much is a Sisterlocks starter package?
Your Sisterlocks package can range from $800 and up. Your final quote will be determined by which consultant you choose at booking.

+ What comes with a consultation?
A consultant will go over the price of your install as well as putting 3-5 test locks on the side ear section of your head and or nape area.

We will also discuss the maintenance required with Sisterlocks or depending on what service you booked.

+ Am I allowed to color my hair?
You should have your hair colored before coming to have your Sisterlocks consultation.

You will be unable to color your hair for 6-12 months after installation.
